Self-care interventions in type 2 diabetes
Increasing physical activity, a healthier diet, reduction of alcohol consumption and quitting smoking can provide a lot of health benefits for patients with type 2 diabetes. This kind of ‘active’ self-care interventions are often difficult to achieve in daily practice, or hard to sustain. In this thesis, studies are presented on the effectiveness and experience on a number of ’passive’ self-care interventions that are popular in patients.
