This workshop provides tools to find open access options for each journal. You will also learn how to deal with the costs of open access publishing.

By the end of the workshop, you will have a clear understanding of:

• What is Open Access and why is it important?
• Open Access Policy: UMCG and Research Funders Types of Open Access (e.g. Gold, Hybrid, Green)
• Discounts and exemptions available for Open Access publishing
• Personal exercise: How to find a suitable Open Access journal for your next publication?
• How to choose an open license (CC licenses)?
• Overview of the Open Access support services offered by the RUG
