On my UMCG or UG computer
How do I access the full text of a publication?
On your UMCG or RUG computer you have access to our entire digital collection. However, we have two pieces of advice to make that access run more smoothly:
-
Start your search via the library website
-
The links you find there, for example via the catalogue or one of our databases, take you directly to the full text.
-
Always start PubMed via the library website: that is a special link that adds the Get-it! button to all articles in PubMed: Go to PubMed
-
-
Add Lean Library to your browser
This will sound familiar to many colleagues: you search for an article or e-book, for example via Google, but you do not have access to the full text.
Then 'Lean Library' can be very useful. This is a small program (extension) in your browser.
What are the advantages of Lean Library?-
It gives you easy and direct access to the PDF with a simple click on the pop-up screen.
-
It adds the Get-it! button to the articles in PubMed and Google Scholar
-
It points you to possible alternative access
You can add Lean Library to your browser yourself.
-
No access? Request it!
Via the library you can request PDFs of articles or book chapters from other libraries in the Netherlands and abroad. You can also borrow books from other libraries.
This service is free for students, UMCG and RUG employees.
