Text mining in licensed databases of the UB
Text and Data Mining
Text and Data Mining (TDM) are computational research methods to extract new information and knowledge from vast amounts of unstructured data (text mining) or structured data (data mining).
Text mining options with licensed databases of the UB
The UB provides access to a large number of full-text databases licensed from publishers and providers for use in education and research. A growing number of publishers allows text and data mining in their license agreement. The conditions set for text mining vary per publisher. Publishers allow text mining for non-commercial research; other conditions determine the way data may be collected, stored and shared. Some publishers will require the use of the tools they provide. Most publishers limit the amount and/or speed of data downloads.
Failure to comply with the terms and conditions of the license agreement may result in access being blocked for the entire university.
