UB launches new book series “I am what I read”

What book has shaped your career?
In our new series “I am what I read,” UG staff reveal the literature that has influenced their professional lives. Every six to eight weeks, a member of our academic community takes you on a personal journey through the pages that have played a crucial role in their professional and personal growth.

Kees Aarts: 'After the Revolution?'
Kees Aarts, Professor of Political Institutions and Behaviour, opens the series. He discusses “After the Revolution?” (1970) by Robert A. Dahl, a work on power control in society that addresses idealists who demand radical democratization, but warns against overblown expectations. How did this book affect Kees Aarts?
This new series highlights not only the diversity of the UG community, but also the rich collection of the University of Groningen Library. Follow “I am what I read” for inspiring stories about the literature that has shaped UG employees and discover the power of literature.
