New light on Zernike through unknown archive

University historian Annelies Noordhof-Hoorn is currently working with other authors on a book and exhibition about the University newspaper, which this year celebrates its 50th birthday. Beyond that, she participates in the new setup of the upper room of the University Museum.

In the light of the latter project, during a recent visit to the Special Collections department of the University of Groningen Library she asked for the 'Zernike archives', material from and about Nobel prize winner Frits Zernike to which she had found a reference somewhere.

Within five minutes, a decription of this archive landed on het desk. "Fast forward a little and I found myself standing next to staff member Evert Jan Reker, staring with some degree of wonder at the row of archive boxes in the vault."
