Tableau de la troupe
Six volumes of Mussengang stories with accompanying illustrations were published between 1987 and 1996.
The first four volumes were printed in black and white. For Volumes 5 and 6, Bert Cornelius created a cover in colour.
On the cover of Volume 5 (1995), squatter Fredje attempts to steal some art intended for the brand-new Groninger Museum. Annie Stortemelk stares dreamily into the distance, presumably lost in heavenly spheres. From left to right, we see Yvette de Bruyne, Hedwig Verschuur, Jeroen de Bock, Isabel Tamsma, and Stanley Druiprek.
Dossier Mussengang was published in late 1995 after the end of the successful serial. Character Berendina Bergsma, feminist pur sang and by now a graduate, shares memories of her student days. On the photographs on the floor, we recognize Eduard de Bock and Mathilde de Bruyne, Yvette de Bruyne, and Fredje.
The first volume of Mussengang was published in 1977, and Volume 2 in 1988. Volumes 3 and 4 were published in 1991 and 1993.
Over the years, inhabitants came and went, as is usually the case in student houses.
On the cover of Volume 1 we see, from left to right, Berendina Bergsma, Johannes de Jong, Waldo Stroovuur, Magdaleen Blijleven, Mathilde de Bruyne, Eduard de Bock, Yvette de Bruyne, Frits Hielkema, and Henk-Paul Steegstra.
Volume 2: Henk-Paul Steegstra, Waldo Stroovuur, Magdaleen Blijleven, Eduard de Bock, Mathilde de Bruyne, Yvette de Bruyne, Koos van Onderen, and Berendina Bergsma.
Volume 3: Berendina Bergsma, Mathilde de Bruyne, and Yvette de Bruyne. You can just catch a glimpse (bottom left) of the leg of Eduard de Bock, flying around the corner of the ice-skating rink in the Stadspark at great speed.
Volume 4: Eduard de Bock (top left), Stanley Druiprek (with cigar), Fredje, Jeroen de Bock, Hedwig Verschuur, Arnout van Wassenaer (with glasses), Berendina Bergsma (also with glasses), Yvette de Bruyne (with a cigarette), and Annie Stortemelk (with her mouth full)
