The journey of Waldo and Magdaleen
In the winter of 1986-1987, illustrator Bert Cornelius and his wife Alies Radix went on a six-month trip around the world. Via Venice, Egypt, and Sudan they travelled to India, Nepal, Thailand, and Indonesia.
But what about Mussengang, which appeared every week in the UKrant? No problem: Bert sent his illustrations per fax, and the writers Peter Bügel and Luuk Hajema invented stories to accompany them.
Mussengang characters Waldo Stroovuur and Magdaleen Blijleven say goodbye to their parents at the Groningen train station (33), and arrive two weeks later in Luxor (34).
