Opening hours

The Special Collections Reading Room is open on Monday through Thursday from 9 AM to 1 PM (public holidays excepted). Visits outside these hours are by appointment only.

Environmental conditions

To protect the physical condition of our materials, certain restrictions apply to their availability for use. Materials cannot be consulted if the temperature in our reading room exceeds 24⁰C or if the air humidity is below 40% or above 70%.

These restrictions apply to photographical materials, books consisting of parchment, parchments bindings and all manuscripts incl. maps. In other cases, too, access may be denied or its duration restricted at the discretion of our staff.
