Prof. Nicolaus Mulerius (1564–1630)

Professor of medicine and mathematics as well as the first librarian in the University of Groningen. In 1617 he also became its fourth chancellor. As librarian Mulerius took care of shelving (based on subject) and cataloguing all books. He also wrote the first catalogue in his own hand: Librorum Academicorum Syllabus (1619).
