Schoolmuseum

Collection of approximately 3.000 vols. of school books and books on education, teaching methods and teacher training books. The school books are mostly the older editions, until 1850, including all disciplines, such as reading, language, mathematics, geography and history. The collection contains important editions of early 19th-century educational scientists, such as Van Niewold, Prinsen, Rijkens and Wester. The school books after 1850 are limited to the subjects of sports, games, arts and crafts, singing and music, drawing and writing. The books on educational sciences, psychology, teaching methods and teacher training are from before and after 1850. Acquired in 1988 from the Noordelijk Instituut voor Opvoeding en Onderwijs, Groningen.
