Provenance and acquisition

          Biography

          Roelof Nicolaas van Lookeren Campagne (1929-2016) was a Professor at the University of Groningen       who taught at the faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.

          He obtained his doctorate in 1957, when he defended his thesis Light-dependent chloride absorption in     Vallisneria leaves. His work was well received and he graduated with honours. In 1970 he held a public     lecture entitled Eogeobiochemie: hoe onze vroegste voorouders zijn ontstaan. The lecture discussed     early life forms and how humans came to be. He retired in 1989.

-       Light-dependent chloride absorption in Vallisneria leaves. Amsterdam: North-Holland Publishing Company, 1957.

-       Eogeobiochemie: hoe onze vroegste voorouders zijn ontstaan. Groningen: Wolters-Noordhoff, 1970.
