Multimedia rooms
Three rooms in the Harmonie Complex are equipped for multimedia teaching and computer practicals. These rooms contain a presentation PC and 24 student computers, all of which are equipped with two workplace variants: UWP ( University WorkPlace ) and Linux. The computers are equipped with headsets for recording and playing back sound, as well as a webcam. The computers are placed against the walls of the rooms, while the centre of the room contains tables equipped with power sockets. These tables can be used for group-based teaching, or by students working on their own laptops. As an option, the partition screens between the computers can be raised, for instance for recording assignments or for digital tests. As a lecturer you can use NetSupportSchool to control the student computers, either individually or for the whole group.
Every room is equipped with a ceiling camera with microphone. This camera can be operated via a remote control. This facility makes it possible to use the room for video conferencing and distance learning, for instance via Skype, Google Hangouts or Adobe Connect.
The keys to these rooms can be obtained from the Porter’s Desk or from the key cabinet on the third (!) floor opposite the coffee machine next to the lift.
