Reimagining gender equality through graphic novels

Did you know that graphic novels often contain ideological messages, hidden in images and words? In this workshop Maria Pilar Milagros will show how gender roles and gender-based violence are represented in a number of graphic novels written by women. Taking this imagery as a starting point, she will create a space for your own understanding of gender roles and discuss relevant societal issues, such as gender-based violence.

Prior to Pilar's workshop, Rodrigo Gonzalez Alvarez, also a member of the Center for Gender Studies (as is Morana Lukač), will highlight the work the Center has done in the past and the direction it is expected to take in the future. Your input is more than welcome.

Workshop by dr Maria Pilar Milagros.

Please note: The festival programme, including the exact starting time of all events and activities, will be online at the beginning of September.
