The Groningen University Institute for Drug Exploration (GUIDE) is the largest institute at UMCG with 250 senior researchers and approximately 800 enrolled PhD candidates. A focus of research within GUIDE is on personalized medicine with a translational approach. Researchers within GUIDE are active in many aspects of ‘bench to bedside’ research, from drug discovery to post-marketing real-world data. Unique to GUIDE is that they have an inter-faculty collaboration with the Groningen Research Institute of Pharmacy (GRIP) of FSE. Interdisciplinary research is something that GUIDE has been active in for many years.
