Study support and advice

In the programmes in Pedagogical and Educational Sciences and the Academische Opleiding Leraar Basisonderwijs (AOLB) there is a strong focus on academic guidance. The programme has several study advisors available.

What can the study advisors do for you?

Our study advisors provide more detailed information about our programmes and give advice to prospective students, students who are enrolled in one of our programmes, and alumni.

What questions can you ask the study advisors?

You can turn to them with questions about:

  • the programme itself
  • study planning
  • choosing courses/minors
  • enrollment
  • rules and regulations that apply to a programme
  • following courses at other faculties
  • studying abroad
  • getting your diploma, etc.

Personal support

The study advisors also monitor your study progress and will invite you talk about your progress, if necessary. It is important to realize that you can turn to your study advisors in case of personal problems that affect your study performance, as there are a number of rules and funds that can help you getting through difficult times. However, it is crucial to inform the study advisors on time, such that appropriate measures can be taken and the best advice can be provided.

Appointment

Do not hesitate to make an appointment with your study advisor. You can arrange for a meeting through our online booking system or by phone (+31-(0)50-363 6301, student service desk) or at the Student Service Desk, first floor Heymans building.

You can find the academic advisors in rooms 18, 20, and 21 of the Nieuwenhuis Building, Grote Rozenstraat 38, ground floor.

Walk-in hours

For short questions, you can come to the walk-in hour. The walk-in hour takes place every Wednesday between 11:00 and 12:00. There is no need to make an appointment! Please note that if you come just before noon, the study advisor may not have enough time for you.
