Diversity diaries

The aim of this study is to understand the spectrum of diversity encountered by novice teachers in day-to-day classroom interactions in Dutch primary education. Teachers shape their professional identities in the current educational realm of increasing emphasis on diversity and inclusivity. On a daily basis, novice teachers navigate differences in their classrooms. This project will draw on diversity diaries (teachers’ audio reflections) about experiences they encounter in their classrooms which keep lingering in their minds. By employing this reflective approach, we aim to capture authentic data of novice teachers’ contemplations.
