Joana Duarte: ‘My dream is a society in which every language and culture matters.’
Joana Duarte is Professor of Educational Sciences and carries out research on inclusive teaching and language teaching in multilingual contexts in primary, secondary, and higher education. She also works on the professionalization of teachers in the context of dealing with linguistic and cultural diversity. In addition, she works on the development of tools, either digital or otherwise, to integrate multilingualism into language didactics in a meaningful way. Her research also focuses on identifying the explicit and implicit language attitudes of professionals, pupils, and parents and world citizenship in education.
