Albers is appointed to this new role for four years. In the present time, Albers believes it is time to advocate for the importance of science and the added value of English-language programs to society and politics in the coming years. Asked about his plans, he emphasizes the importance of Open Science and team science. Furthermore, he will focus on improving internal collaboration. Albers: "Collegial interaction and transparency in decision-making are essential for a good working climate, which in turn is essential for impactful research and education. Such collaboration is not possible without actively investing in an inclusive and socially safe faculty. Good progress has already been made in recent years, and I want to continue this process."
