Introduction to Digipass
What is a Digipass?

Your Digipass will provide you with One Time Passwords for use in logging into your company's system. This increases the security of logins and helps to ensure that the person logging into your account is really you.

Virtual Digipass

A Virtual Digipass sends a One Time Password via SMS to your mobile phone upon request. If a Virtual Digipass is assigned to you, it may be as a standard method of logging in or as a backup when your usual Digipass is unavailable. If used as a backup, your use of it might be limited by time (disabled on a certain date) or number of uses.

Physical Digipass

If you have a physical Digipass, it might look like one of the following commonly-used tokens:

Go 1

Go 3

Pro 300

Which Authentication Method?
Usually your Digipass will only provide one method of authentication. Commonly-used methods are:
Response Only

You request a number from your Digipass and input that number in a field or as part of your login.

Challenge/Response

A website or login dialog provides you with a challenge to type into your Digipass. Your Digipass displays a response keyed to that challenge, which you enter into the appropriate field. If your Digipass does not have a keypad, you cannot use Challenge/Response authentication.

Virtual Digipass

You request a One Time Password by logging in as intructed by your administrator (typically with your password and/or a request keyword in the password field). When you have received the One Time Password via SMS, you enter it into the appropriate field.

If you are unsure which method of authentication you should be using, check with your administrator.

Using Your Digipass

Digipass PIN

Your Digipass might require a PIN. The type of Digipass will determine whether you type the PIN into the Digipass itself or enter the PIN as part of your password on login.

Ensure you know the PIN for your Digipass, as your Digipass or login access may be locked after a number of incorrect PIN entries. Ask your admin if you do not.
