Pharmacy student Julia Alberts awarded third prize in Dr. Saal van Zwanenberg Prize
On November 12, Pharmacy student Julia Alberts was awarded the third prize of the Dr. Saal van Zwanenberg Prize worth EUR 1,000. The three prizes are awarded for excellent Master research in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Julia has conducted research into new concepts to treat cardiovascular disease. The title of her master project was ‘The assessment of the dynamics of cAMP hydrolysis. Changes in cAMP and cGMP in the presence of mutant PDE3A’.
According to the jury, Julia has a good basic scientific attitude, which is characterized by a positive critical approach to her results.
The Dr. Saal van Zwanenberg Foundation annually awards three thesis prizes to master students in the medical and pharmaceutical sciences. The foundation is named after the founder of Organon and the ancestor of the later AKZO, Salomon van Zwanenberg. It stimulates scientific research into new medicines by awarding prizes and granting scholarships to scientists and students.
