The centenary was celebrated with more than 550 former members and alumni. GLV Idun was founded in 1919 as a Groningen Biologists Club by Biology students who also wanted to undertake activities outside their lectures. In 2006, the study association merged with Melior Vita (from the Life Science and Technology degree programme) and the association continued as GLV Idun. The association currently has around 1,700 members.

Medal of honour

The Royal Medal of Honour is a badge of honor that the King can grant to associations, foundations, institutions and sports clubs. It symbolizes the respect and appreciation that the King has for the recipient's special merits.
