Rudolf appointed Fellow of the American Physical Society
The American Physical Society (APS) has appointed Prof. Petra Rudolf a ‘Fellow of the American Physical Society’. Rudolf is head of the FOM work group at the Zernike Institute for Advanced Materials of the Faculty of Science and Engineering (formerly known as the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences) at the University of Groningen. Her appointment is the result of her research into carbon compounds – in particular fullerenes, nanotubes, graphite and graphene – and molecular motors.
The Fellowship is recognition by her colleagues of her extraordinary contribution to physics. Only a half percent at most of the members of the American Physical Society are honoured in this fashion.
Rudolf received her Fellowship certificate on 22 March 2011.
