History

The Science & Engineering Business Center (SEBC) focuses on connecting industry with the researchers and students of the Faculty of Science & Engineering (FSE) of the University of Groningen. The origin of the SEBC lies with the Groningen Engineering Business Center (GEBC).

The GEBC is a project of the Groningen Engineering Centre (GEC). The GEBC started in 2018 with seven company clusters and was partially funded by the European Fund for Regional Developments and Samenwerkingsverband Noord-Nederland (SNN). The GEBC has a strong focus on Technological research and education. Several successful connecting activities have taken place within the GEBC project, including excursions, 'Meet, Greet & Matching events', guest lectures, and the annual symposium better known as the Scientific Meeting.

From 2022, these activities are continued within the SEBC with the expansion of the field of work to science and Engineering. Therefore, the SEBC acts as a 'one-stop-shop' for external parties of our Faculty.
