Study Association

A study association is an organization run by a team of students from the respective bachelor’s and master’s degree programme(s). The FSE study associations organize many activities for students, including introductory camps and monthly “borrels” (informal social gatherings, often with drinks), but also more serious events such as company visits or conferences. Study associations differ from the general student associations where the degree programme is irrelevant. And study associations do not have hazing rituals.

Your student life offers endlessbopportunities to get to know new people and develop yourself. Lugus can be ofbgreat use for this! These are the objectives of our association:

  • To contribute to the broadening of the scientific education of its members. The association organises activities such as symposia, excursions, conferences and handles the book sale for its members.
  • To promote bonding between students and the academic staff.

The association tries to achieve this through socials, (ski)trips, social and sporting activities and an introduction camp for first-year students.

  • To represent the interests of its members that relate to their studies or to their future employment. This is done by organising Inhouse days, recruitment dinners and study support activities.

Being an active member and thus being part of a committee of Lugus means that you quickly meet new people and make new friends with whom you willb organise awesome activities and boost your CV while you are at it! As a first-year student, you may be interested in organising the Active Members Weekend, the next Introduction Weekend or even the yearly Ski Trip!

Make sure to take a look at our website www.tbvlugus.nl for a complete overview of our exciting and diverse association! This is also the website where you can become a member of our association, which only costs 15 euros for your entire stay in Groningen, which you pay at the beginning of your study time.
