Registration procedure

The registration procedure depends on the degree programme, your qualifications and whether or not you have been enrolled at the University before.

You must register again for each academic year. The academic year starts on 1 September.

You will be registered as of 1 September if you:

• have submitted a reregistration request, and
• have arranged payment of the tuition fees

before 31 August via Studielink.

Missed the deadline?
Reregistration will shift to the following registration option for the degree programme.

• Bachelor's degree programme: 1 September. After 1 September you can register only with the consent of the degree programme. For more information, please contact the study advisor.
• Master's degree programme: next starting date of the relevant Master's degree programme (study delay: up to six months).

It depends on the starting date of the degree programme.

You can follow the status of your application on your personal Studielink page under the option "My enrolments". In addition, you will be kept informed by e-mail and via Messages in Studielink.

This depends on the intake moment of the relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree programme:

• Bachelor's degree programme: 1 September. After 1 September you can register only with the consent of the degree programme. For more information, please contact the study advisor.
• Master's degree programme:  starting date of the relevant Master's degree programme.

 

You can follow your registrationprocess on your personal Studielink page. If you are officially registered, the registration date will appear on this page. 

New students also receive a University card.

You can register for a degree programme at the University of Groningen via Studielink.

In principle, your student number does not change, even if you have not been enrolled for years.
