Pre-master guide for students with a Dutch previous education
Pre-master guide for students with a Dutch previous education
Welcome to the information page about applying for a pre-master programme. Please note: the deadline for application for the (pre-)master programme of Real Estate Studies is May 1st due to the selection procedure. For the other programmes the deadline is August 1st.
1. Choose a master programme
Come to our master programme presentations and to the pre-master presentation at the master event to help you make your choice of programme.
You can check the master programme web pages to see if you are directly admissible to a master's programme. If you are not, doing a pre-master's programme is sometimes possible.
To check if you have a bachelor's degree (University of Applied Sciences) related to the field of the master programme of your choice, please go to the master programme web pages. Click on Entry requirements - Transfer Options: All Universities of Applied Sciences.
If you have a bachelor degree from a Research University, please fill out the application form (see step 2) to have your application assessed.
Once you have finished your pre-master, you are directly admissible to the master.
Please note: A background in geography or planning is recommended. If you have a different background and are admitted to the pre-master, the pre-master can be demanding.
2. Apply at the Faculty of Spatial Sciences
N.B. For Cultural Geography, you apply via the Campus Fryslan Faculty
-
Fill out the online application form and upload the requested documents. Make sure to upload all the documents at the same time.
-
Check the programme of the pre-master of your choice in Ocasys (please note that changes in the programme for the next academic year might occur).
-
If you think there is an overlap of pre-master courses with courses you completed in your Bachelor (whether at a Research University or University of applied sciences), list the names of these courses on the application form. Make sure to enclose proof of the overlap, such as a description of the Bachelor course(s) you completed.
-
The admissions board of the pre-master will decide if these courses can be removed from your pre-master programme.
