Silence as Epistemic Resistance
Abstract
The talk considers the epistemic agency of marginalized knowers in contexts of systematic (epistemic) oppression. With the help of the work of Black feminist philosophers, it will be shown that silence is not only an indication of unjust epistemic conditions, but can also be an expression of epistemic agency and resistance.
