Dirk Pieter van Donk awarded with honorary fellowship European Operations Management Association
During the 31st Annual Conference of the European Operations Management Association (EurOMA), the EurOMA board granted Professor Dirk Pieter van Donk the honorary fellowship. EurOMA started the fellowship program to honor those academics who have made a great contribution to the field of operations management and have given many years of service to the association.
Dirk Pieter van Donk is Professor of Operations Management at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB). The award was presented to Van Donk for his excellent research and his contribution to the European Operations Management Association, including being in the board for eight years and organizing two conferences, as well as initiating the successful Sustainable Operations and Supply Chain Forum and co-organizing the first one in 2013 in Groningen. Among the around 20 people currently being honored, Van Donk so far is the only fellow from the Netherlands.
Excellent research
Van Donk’s main research areas are Supply Chain Management and Integration, and Supply Chain Resilience. In both, main research questions relate to a better understanding the underlying dimensions, the need for it, the relationship with contextual factors, and the effects on performance.
Van Donk’s research has been published in, among others, Journal of Operations Management, Journal of Supply Chain Management, International Journal of Operations & Production Management, Supply Chain Management: an International Journal, International Journal on Production Economics. He is a reviewer for a number of these operations management journals. Currently, he serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Operations Management, Journal of Supply Chain Management, and the International Journal of Operations & Production Management.
