Dean Peter Verhoef and vice-dean Manda Broekhuis reappointed
The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) is pleased to announce that both dean prof. dr. Peter Verhoef and vice-dean prof. dr. Manda Broekhuis have been reappointed for a second term.
Verhoef looks forward to continue working together with all colleagues within the faculty. In the first years of his term, there was a strong focus on managing the faculty through the coronavirus pandemic and developing the strategic plan, Connecting for Impact. Following this strategic plan, multiple initiatives have been started.
He is very satisfied that our faculty has a new tenure track policy, has introduced the academic education track and has taken important steps in improving diversity, inclusion and social safety, although more steps can still be taken.
In his next term, there will be a continued focus on the implementation of the strategic plan. This concerns important strategic objectives and plans, such as further developing the Academic Education track and improving diversity, inclusion and social safety and the gender balance at senior level positions. Formulating the internationalization strategy more sharply, developing and implementing a new alumni policy, focusing more strongly on societal impact through the five societal themes, and establishing connections with stakeholders outside the faculty are also of importance. To achieve all this, the faculty board will work together with academic and support staff, building on the collegial culture within FEB.
Verhoef will also continue in his role as chair of the Dutch Sector of Economics and Business, in which the different economics and business faculties of Dutch universities aim to develop plans for transformation in this sector.
Broekhuis’ role and plans
Broekhuis’ particular area of responsibility is education, and she has been instrumental in ensuring that the faculty was able to continue offering high quality education during the Covid-19 lockdowns.
In addition, she has played a key role in the development of the new future proof plans of our bachelor and master programmes, including the thesis projects, the further development of our executive degree programmes, the reorganization and shortening of the Pre-MSc programmes, and the development and implementation of the new Academic Teaching Track. Besides this, she has played an important role in creating a more inclusive and diverse learning and work environment.
Plans for the next term include, amongst others, the continuing development and implementation of both education and Quality Management System Innovation.
