Nancy Kamp-Roelands appointed at the Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities
Professor Nancy Kamp-Roelands has been appointed a member of the Koninklijke Hollandsche Maatschappij der Wetenschappen (KHMW, Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities) on 13 February.
Kamp-Roelands is professor of non-financial information, integrated reporting and assurance at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Groningen (UG). She is a pioneer in developing guidance on environmental & sustainability reporting and integrated reporting, as well as guidance on obtaining assurance on it. In the Netherlands she wrote the first version of the Guide to Sustainability Reporting for the Dutch Accounting Standards Board and for the Dutch Auditing Standards Board she was involved in writing the first version of the Dutch Standard NV COS 3810N Assurance engagements related to sustainability reporting.
Apart from her research and teaching activities at the university, Kamp-Roelands is a Royal NBA certified public accountant. Next to that, she is a member of the committee financial reporting and accountancy for the Authority Financial Markets and a member of the UNCTAD-ISAR accounting research network. Until recently she was a member of the steering group European Reporting Lab of the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group, that is currently developing European standards for mandatory sustainability reporting.
The KHMW
The KHMW was founded in 1752. Ever since its establishment, the KHMW has been involved in promoting science and facilitating exchange between academia and society, nowadays via lectures, symposia and awards. As a member Kamps-Roelands hopes to contribute to the exchange of knowledge on how corporate transparency on sustainability contributes to sustainable development and eventually a more sustainable society.
