Peter Verhoef new dean Faculty of Economics and Business

The Faculty Board is pleased to announce that Peter Verhoef has been appointed by the Board of the University as our new dean, starting 1 June 2019 for a period of four years. We are proud to have found an experienced academic leader, both in teaching and research, with a thorough knowledge of the faculty.
This means that our current interim dean Professor Jan Berend Wezeman will leave FEB per this date.
The search for a new vice dean will start soon. We hope to appoint a new vice dean as of 1 September 2019.
About Peter Verhoef
Peter Verhoef (1972) is professor of Marketing at FEB and the director of the University of Groningen Business School (UGBS). He also is the founder and director of Groningen Digital Business Centre and the Customer Insights Center of the University of Groningen. He obtained his PhD in 2001 at the School of Economics, Erasmus University Rotterdam. His research interests concern customer management, customer loyalty, multi-channel issues, category management, and buying behavior of organic products. He has extensively published on these topics and his publications have appeared in many journals.
Peter Verhoef has extensive teaching experience for undergraduate, graduate and PhD students. He is also involved in executive teaching contributing to multiple executive programmes. He currently is also academic trustee of the Marketing Science Institute in Boston ( www.msi.org ) and also has been appointed as European Marketing Academy (EMAC) fellow. He co-chaired the EMAC 2017 conference in Groningen.
Verhoef is currently an editorial board member of the Journal of Marketing, Marketing Science, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Service Research and the Journal of Interactive Marketing. He functions as an area editor for Marketing Science. He is a senior editor of the International Journal of Research in Marketing.
