ICT and organisational change
Digital technology affects all areas of a business, and fundamentally changes how organisations operate and deliver value to its stakeholders. This research profile focuses on digital transformation in organizations and examines various facets of digital transformation, such as the effective design of digital technologies and the digital workplace, and the implementation, local adoption and adaptation of digital technologies within and across organisations. Digital transformations are also evaluated in terms of risks, intended and unintended consequences.
The research group’s focus is on professional service settings in complex multi-stakeholder environments, such as healthcare and financial services. It strives for research results that also account for the managerial and societal impact of the innovations it studies in terms of valuable, ethical and sustainable practices. The group participates in the Groningen Digital Business Center, that focuses on digital entrepreneurship in cooperation with digital entrepreneurs in the North of The Netherlands, and collaborates with TNO.
Our research projects investigate topics such as:
- implementation and adoption of complex information systems
- digital change and transformation for innovation in the workplace
- information economics
- future of work
- social, political and organizational change implications of IT implementations
