Rahul Naduvath | Face of FEB

The Faculty of Economics and Business is a faculty with a great diversity of people who all have an impact, big or small, on science and society. But who are these people? Within ‘Faces of FEB’ we connect with different students of the faculty and give a little peek into their world. This week: Rahul Naduvath from Bangalore, India, who co-owns a business based in the US.

Rahul Naduvath

1. Can you tell me a little bit about yourself?

My name is Rahul Naduvath, 26 years old,

2. What are you studying?

I am doing a Pre-Master’s in Economic Development and Globalization that ends soon.

3. You moved here from Bangalore, India; how was the transition for you?

The transition was something exciting for me. I faced difficulties, and I still do in certain areas, but overall I have been adapting well to the new environment.

4. What do you miss most from home?

The general atmosphere in urban India, and the food.

5. You’re co-owner of a small business that’s based in Colorado in the US; can you tell us about that?

I joined a couple of friends that I have met only online who were running this small business since 2019. Having just quit my job, it was an exciting prospect for me to build a business together. We work exclusively with other small and local businesses to help them grow - providing digital and e-commerce solutions, as well as business advice. To me, it is a side project, but one I really want to do.

6. How has the past year been for you? Have you been able to manage well during the lockdown?

The past year has been hard and mentally taxing in many ways. I wouldn’t say I managed well during the lockdown, but I’ve kept my head above water so far.

7. What are you most looking forward to when lockdown ends?

I’m unsure, to be honest. I may have forgotten what life felt like before lockdown. I might want to travel and socialise.

8. What are your plans after graduation?

I would like to work with organisations involved in development and policy. It would be a dream to work internationally, but I would also like to work in my home country ultimately.
