Double Degree programmes
The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) offers a range of Double Degree options both at Bachelor and Master level, in collaboration with international partner universities in Chile, China, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Indonesia, Norway, Portugal, Romania and Sweden. In all these programmes students study part of the curriculum at the University of Groningen and part at the partner university.
Why participate in a Double Degree programme?
-
To earn two accredited degrees from two internationally renowned universities;
-
To broaden or deepen your FEB curriculum by studying at a partner university;
-
To increase your intercultural competences and expand your international network;
-
To work in diverse teams and improve foreign language skills;
-
To enhance your career opportunities.
Where can you study?
Double Degree programmes can have two study paths, one for FEB students and one for students from the partner university. The study path for FEB students will usually start with a period of study at FEB, after which students progress to the partner, while the study path for partner studenst starts with a period of study at the partner, after which students complete the programme at FEB.
Please note that the Double Degree Bachelor programmes of the BSc International Business with Universtitas Indonesia, Universitas Gadjah Mada and Institut Teknologi Bandung are not open to FEB students, since they only have a study path for students that start their studies at the partner university. All other Double Degree Bachelor and Master programmes are open to FEB students.
In most of the cases, the study path for FEB students starts with a period of study at FEB. In some cases, it starts with a period of study at the partner university (i.e. both FEB students and partner students follow the same study path, starting at the partner). This is the case for the Double Degree Master of the MSc International Economics and Sustainable Development with Georg-August-Universität Göttingen; the Double Degree Master of the MSc Supply Chain Management with Católica Porto Business School, and the Double Degree Master of the MSc Finance with Alexandru Ioan Cuza University.
Application and admission
Since Double Degree programmes include a period of study at FEB as well as a period of study at the partner university, Double Degree students need to apply to and be admitted by both FEB and the partner university.
For FEB students:
For the study paths for FEB students that start with a period of study at FEB, you need to apply for the FEB programme involved in the Double Degree programme through the regular FEB application procedure for this programme, and need to meet the regular entry requirement of this programme.
Then, if you want to apply for the Double Degree option, please contact the FEB coordinator of the Double Degree programme. They will be able to provide you with information on how application with the partner university is arranged. In most cases, you have to be nominated by the FEB coordinator to the partner.
For the study paths for FEB students that start with a period of study at the partner university, you should contact the FEB coordinator of the Double Degree programme before the start of the Double Degree programme. They will be able to provide details about the aplication procedure.
For partner students:
If you are studying at one of our Double Degree partners and are interested in the Double Degree option, please contact the Double Degree coordinator/contact person at your university for more informatio about the application procedure.
