Grant information: |
The Talent Grant offers a contribution towards the costs of study at the University of Groningen, to be paid in monthly installments. In 2020-2021 the monthly installment will be €450 per month. The grant is awarded for the duration of the Master’s degree programme. (12 months / 18 monts or 24 monts, depending on the duration of the progamme). Two grants per country (India, Indonesia, Russia) are available each year. Terms and conditions 1. The applicant will hold a non-EU/EEA passport from the country of origin and therefore has to pay the tuition fee II. 2. Scholarships will not be awarded to applicants who have already obtained a University of Groningen master’s degree or participating in another scholarship programme which covers tuition fee and/or living costs (e.g. Erasmus + /EMA 2/ NFP/ Erik Bleumink Fund). It is possible to apply for the Holland Scholarship together with the Orange Tulip Scholarship. 3. Students who are awarded a Orange Tulip Scholarship/Talent Grant must confirm in writing their agreement with the terms and conditions of the grant. Selection process: A selection committee will review the applications. Students are selected on the basis of academic merit. Decisions as to eligibility for awarding a scholarship are made in April/May. Students will be informed as soon as possible about their application for a Grant. Please note As the OTS/Talent Grant not covers the complete tuition fee, you should acquire additional funding in order to fully finance your study. One of the requirements for being granted a residence permit in the Netherlands is that students must submit proof that they have sufficient financial means to finance their study period in the Netherlands. The University of Groningen advises a budget, not including the tuition fee, of approx. € 10.000 to € 14.000 per year to cover the costs for rent, insurance, living expenses, course books and local transportation. How much money students actually spend will of course depend on their life style and spending habits. |
