Eligible candidates: |
Physicians, nurses, scientists and other health care professionals in early/mid-career who are located in resource-limited settings from low-income and lower-middle-income countries working in the field of HIV infection, are eligible. Your proposed scholarship has to start during the year for which the award would be made. |
Grant information: |
Programmes: All aspects of research related to HIV infection and its consequences are eligible, including clinical care, basic and applied biology, epidemiology, psychological, ethical, economic, educational and societal aspects. Examples of skills and techniques that may be acquired are: clinical management, clinical trial experience and practice, data and trial management, statistical expertise, acquisition of laboratory techniques and analysis, cell and molecular biology. Purposes: short stay 2-6 months of duration or double degree PhD study
The mission of the HIV Research Trust is to build capacity in HIV in low and lower-middle income countries by promoting study into the prevention and treatment of HIV infection to further the knowledge of early to mid-career healthcare professionals working in resource limited settings. The long-term objective is to improve outcomes for patients and people living with HIV in these regions. Until recently, the Trust has been entirely funded by income generated from the International Congress on Drug Therapy in HIV Infection. Recognising the unique nature of this scholarship programme in improving outcomes for patients and people living with HIV, the Trustees are committed to continuing its charitable remit and increasing the number of annual scholarships |
