Education Application, registration and tuition fees FAQ enrolment and tuition fees Registration Registration

Two studies

  • I am enrolled at the University of Groningen and will also enrol at another Dutch university. What should I do?

If you are registered at another university or a university of applied sciences in the Netherlands for the statutory tuition fees, and you enrol in the same academic year for a second Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme for statutory tuition fees at the University of Groningen, you will not have to pay tuition fees for the second degree programme, unless the amount you paid for the first enrolment is lower than the statutory tuition fees. In the latter case you will have to pay the difference.

If you meet the requirements, indicate in Studielink that you wish to pay with a Tuition fee payment receipt. Studielink will then exchange your digital proof of payment with the University of Groningen.

If your institute cannot yet exchange a digital receipt this will show up in Studielink. If so, you need to request the receipt directly from your institute. They will send this document directly to the University of Groningen.

    Ask your question

  • I want to enrol in two degree programmes at the University of Groningen. Is this possible? And how do I arrange this?

You can simultaneously enrol in more than one Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme. It is advisable, however, to consult the study advisors of both programmes to examine if your plans are feasible and, if so, how to study most effectively.

Depending on the tuition fees category that applies to the different degree programmes, you will then either have to pay the statutory tuition fees once or separate tuition fees for each programme.
