Open Access and PURE

Open Access is one of the core themes of the University and UMCG policy . Many researchers do not realize that they can often publish open access free of charge. T hese are missed opportunities! In this information session, the CMB will bring you up to date.
Topics discussed will be:

• Can you publish Open Access in your favorite journal? Please check the Open Access journal browser
• On the CMB Open Access site you can read about the agreements made with the various publishers.
• Upload your ‘final author’s version’ of your manuscript. The Central Medical Library or University will r e gister it in PURE, the research database of the University
• Add the correct affiliation details for UMCG publications (crucial for the ranking)

Altmetric : who’s talking about your research?

By using the tool Altmetric you can find out what is being said about your publication on the web, such as tweets and blogs, by whom and how often.
The CMB can demonstrate how Altmetric can be a valuable , additional tool to monitor and report on publicity surrounding your research.
