Dr. Karsten Schulz
My name is Karsten Schulz and I am Assistant Professor Governance & Innovation at Campus Fryslân. The main focus of my current research is on the relationship between climate governance, anticipatory risk management and the governance of emerging technologies such as blockchain. I hold a PhD from the Center for Development Research at the University of Bonn, Germany. Before I joined Campus Fryslân I worked as a government consultant in the field of digitalization and as a researcher for a number of international organizations and climate change related research projects with a particular focus on climate adaptation in West Africa. I am also a research fellow of the Earth System Governance Project.
During my time away from the office I enjoy travelling, reading fiction, practicing martial arts and discovering new developments in virtual reality technologies as well as in the field of serious (and not-so-serious!) gaming.
