Centre of Innovation, Technology and Ethics
The Centre for Innovation, Technology, and Ethics (CITE), directed jointly by Prof. Andrej Zwitter and Assoc. Prof. Matt Coler, is dedicated to the advancement of cutting-edge research and the fostering of interdisciplinary collaboration at the intersection of data science, technology, and ethics.
CITE serves as a hub for innovation, facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration between academia, industry, policymakers, and the wider community to address critical technological and ethical challenges. Through hands-on learning, enhanced educational offerings, and a robust network of global partnerships, CITE empowers students, researchers, and stakeholders to contribute to groundbreaking research and meaningful dialogue that impacts Fryslân and beyond.
CITE houses two labs: the Speech Tech Lab, led by Dr. Vass Verkhodanova, which focuses on advancing research in speech technologies, and the Tech Governance Lab, led by Taís Fernanda Blauth, which explores the intersection of technology, governance, and ethics.
