Date: | 27 October 2023 |
Golshid Shekoufandeh, a recent graduate of the MSc Speech Technology (ST) and current PhD candidate at the University of Amsterdam (UvA), discusses how the VT programme aligns with industry standards, the hands-on skills she acquired, and the networking opportunities she encountered.
Industry alignment
How effectively does the programme align with the latest trends in the VT-industry, considering its direction and future developments (optional: specify how it aligns with research and/or other professional opportunities)?
The programme fits well with the latest trends in Speech Technology. It starts by teaching the basics and important knowledge. As the field changes, the programme updates its lessons to keep students ready.
One great thing about the programme is that it helps students connect with important people in both school and the industry. This helps students learn from experts and make connections for future work.
Also, the programme is good at connecting students with research and work opportunities. Students can work on new research and get involved with new technologies. They can also find internships and jobs with big companies, which helps them start their careers in Speech Technology.
