Flashback: LinkedIn Masterclass

05 December 2014

After long preparations and a Facebook campaign many of you probably have noticed, LinkedIn and Shell visited Groningen for the LinkedIn Masterclass on November 27th. Before the programme even started there already was a line of students waiting to get their professional profile picture taken at our photo studio. Over at the Geertsemazaal there was a crowd as well. Tickets had to be looked up and shown and many more students came to attend the Masterclass than we anticipated.

After a short introduction by NEXT Career Services you could immediately start working on your LinkedIn profile with the tips and tricks Marcel Molenaar, head of Marketing at LinkedIn Benelux, shared with you. Laptops were opened and the mobile app too was used en masse during Marcel's talk. The only conclusion can be you all now have a perfect LinkedIn profile. If not, you can always visit our workshop for tips and tricks! Elmer Schaap, recruitment manager at Shell then took the stage to inform you on how to apply for a job at Shell. More importantly, he shared how recruiters use LinkedIn to select candidates and to get a first impression of you as a possible candidate for a job. Luckily Elmer brought some of his recruiters to answer all of your questions in great detail.

NEXT Career Services looks back on the Masterclass with pride. We want to thank you all for attending and being so enthusiastic. We hope to see you again at our future seminars. If you want to stay up to date on our workshops and events follow us on Facebook! If you have questions or anything else you'd like to share with us about the LinkedIn Masterclass, be sure to contact us at next@rug.nl
