Singapore
Some 250 former Groningers live and/or work in Singapore. A good reason to start an alumni circle. This was established in 2013, on the initiative of the chairman of the Executive Board, Sibrand Poppema. A year later, some enthusiastic alumni set up an internship program. Every year about ten UG students go to Singapore to do an internship at companies where alumni are employed. The students are also welcome at the alumni meetings and can thus become acquainted with the tight-knit network of former students.

'The alumni chapter really did their best to give us the best experience in Singapore. They were kind and helpful. I hope more alumni chapters across the world would also organize internships for UG students, it is a great opportunity!'
