Before I chose to do my Master’s degree in Groningen, I had heard only good things about the RUG. Thus, it was an easy decision to start studying at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Groningen. It offers a high-quality of education with a great focus on academic research. In the field of Economics and Business, students have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of Bachelor and Master courses - all taught in English. I also enjoyed the emphasis on coursework in small groups and a more active learning approach which has helped me to make the most of my Master's study. Moreover, besides highly international student environment, the university supports its students with well-equipped study facilities and an excellent career service, which helps and advice for the future career in many ways.

A young and vibrant city

Beyond the great university, the city of Groningen has a lot to offer for everyone. Right at the Zernike Campus is the Aclo, the University’s sports center, where you can do all kinds of sports. Groningen is a perfect city to study shaped by the enormous number of students. In the vibrant city center, you can find a lot of nice cafés and bars and a variety of markets multiple times a week. If you want to see more of the Netherlands besides Groningen, these cities like Amsterdam, Rotterdam or Utrecht can be reached by train just within a few hours. Furthermore, the Dutch are friendly in nature and nearly everyone speaks English fluently. So, there is no language barrier. However, if you want to learn the Dutch language, which is especially easy for Germans, you could join a Dutch course that the University offers for free.

Biography

Nina pursued a double degree master's in International Economics and Business from the University of Groningen and the University of Goettingen. She started in September 2016. Nina is also an active member of InDiGu (“Integration and Diversity”) program at the University of Goettingen.
