About studying in Groningen
Before moving to Groningen, my friends had sung the praises of the RUG. For instance, a student city with highly educated people. After I arrived, I found it was not an exaggeration. People here are nice and friendly. You are able to enjoy an independent research environment. Almost every citizen can speak fluent English.
Groningen is a peaceful and beautiful city as well. Although the RUG is in the north of the Netherlands, I never felt boring or isolated here. The student organizations such as ESN always organized interesting activities. Furthermore, I really appreciated coordinators of the faculty, they were always there for me when I needed them. All of these were helpful in getting me involved in the city.
