Career & Development Event: Leadership

Leadership plays a central and varied role in our professional lives. It is therefore not surprising that increasing attention is being paid to sustainable, responsible and new forms of leadership, with new types of leaders coming to the fore.

As a young, female colleague in a management position, Wietske Degen, head of the Sustainable Consortia & Alliances domain within University Services (and perhaps more importantly a proud former active member of YoungRUG) will shed some light on these new types of leadership as the key-note speaker for this event.

Wietske will be talking about what led her to her current position and her experiences thus far. By providing tips on how to overcome challenges in your career, she will try to inspire young colleagues to take the step towards leading roles early in their careers.

In addition, she will give young colleagues a better perspective on how to navigate their professional lives and influence the course of their careers, be this in pursuit of a management position or another fulfilling role within or outside the university.

After the session, there will be time to discuss, socialize, explore the House of Connections, and enjoy drinks and snacks.
