Communications and event management professional for the Aletta Jacobs School of Public Health (0.9 FTE)
The Aletta Jacobs School of Public Health (AJSPH) - a joint partnership of the University of Groningen, UMCG, the Hanze University of Applied Sciences and NHL Stenden - is the proud flag-bearer of healthy ageing in the Northern Netherlands. Position
AJSPH is looking for a communications and event management professional. The ideal candidate is someone who has experience in the field of external communications, marketing, and event management. The candidate will be working for the Cross-border Institute of Healthcare Systems and Prevention (CBI), which is part of the AJSPH. The position is inserted in the project “Cross-border cooperation in healthcare for more healthy years in the DE-NL Northern region” (Health4DE-NL), which is financed by INTERREG VI A Deutschland-Nederland. The tasks mainly focus on developing and maintaining the communication channels of the project, writing blog posts (conducting interviews with researchers), designing communication outings such as flyers, booklets and banners, cross-border network management, and organizing events and meetings.
The officer will also work on and developing plans that strengthen the visibility of the Health4DE-NL project. Other responsibilities include leading or participating in communication and marketing projects, connecting with stakeholders in the Northern Dutch-German border (e.g. hospitals, public health offices, municipalities).
Qualifications
The following skills, abilities and qualifications are required:
- University level, Bachelor’s degree; preferably trained in the field of communications and/or marketing.
- Independent, proactive, creative and flexible.
- Affinity with the area of health and research.
- Excellent proficiency in English and Dutch language. German language skills are a pro.
- Capable of creating content, based on research results for different formats, (e.g. blog, graphic design video, website content).
- Capable of working with Adobe programs such as Indesign and Photoshop.
- Capable of creating visibility for the Health4DE-NL project via a variety of media channels (internal, external).
- Real team player, with a results-oriented and creative attitude and excellent communication (incl writing) and collaboration skills (including intercultural skills).
- Demonstrable experience in project work (events, design, video productions).
- Demonstrable communication experience (website, intranet, campaigns, press releases, videos, interviews, key messages).
- Demonstrable event planning and coordination (creation of event program, logistics management, coordination of evet flow, evaluation of events).

Conditions of employment
We offer you in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities:
- A salary depending on qualifications and work experience, starting from a minimum of € 2,656 gross per month to a maximum of € 3,548 gross per month (salary scale 8) for a full-time 0.9 FTE position.
- Excluding 8% holiday allowance and 8,3% end-of-year bonus and participation in a pension scheme for employees.
This temporary employment is for one year, starting from April 1st, 2025. Depending on performance and developments in the organization there is the possibility of an extension.
