Smart transport in a rural area
Transport networks for people and goods in shrinking regions can be designed better to improve service in an economically viable way. This can tremendously reduce costs and improve the liveability of shrinking regions, thus meeting the transport demand with less vehicles and reducing traffic problems and air pollution. Professor Iris Vis was given a substantial grant to investigate the possibilities for such a shared transport network. Will bus drivers also be delivering medicines and library books in future?
