Robots as problem-solvers in production lines

Even the most efficient assembly line will regularly experience downtime. Professor of Artificial Intelligence Lambert Schomaker is working with industry on an intelligent system, whereby robots locate and resolve problems in a production line. The current operator who knows how to resolve problems will then get a new role as ‘robot trainer'.
